Proprioception training based on biofeedback Proprioception, in other words deep sensibility, is a sense in musculoskeletal system, which is responsible for giving information on the position of the body in space and positioning of particular parts towards each other.
Humans need that information during physical activity, where stimuli change very quickly, but also in everyday life when performing the easiest activities. The receptors of this sense in motion system are present in muscles and in joints. Eye-sight and labyrinth also play an important role. Information from the receptors is analyzed and based on it an organism reacts with muscle tension, stabilization of joints or changing the direction of movement adequately to the situation.
When deep sensibility is disturbed, the difficulties with the following things become greater and greater: keeping the balance, movement, everyday activities that require keeping the balance (going up the ladder, cleaning the windows).
Biofeedback training on Zebris platform is based on visual computer game during which a patient monitors his/her progress on the monitor.
